Giuseppe (Joe) Del Vicario
MD, FRCP(C)Joe is an anesthesiologist at St. Paul’s Hospital who has extensive volunteer experience through surgical missions to Guatemala, the Philippines, and Uganda. He has participated in every H4H surgical mission to Guatemala since its inception, as well as in an H4H mission to the Philippines. Joe is the Chair of our Surgical Mission Committee and Medical Lead of the Guatemalan surgical missions.
Gloria Garraway
RNGloria is a Clinical Nurse Leader on the Cardiac Surgery Intensive ward at St. Paul’s Hospital. Gloria has been active with H4H for many years, participating on the Surgical Committee. Gloria supports the surgical mission team as an organizer, leader, and clinical care: she has served as the H4H Surgical Mission’s Post-Anesthesia Recovery room head nurse for the past few years, ensuring patient safety and quality standards are met for optimal patient outcomes. Gloria has also contributed to H4H fundraising efforts at St. Paul’s Hospital. Gloria is well-respected by those who have the opportunity to work/volunteer with her as she consistently demonstrates a focused, calm, disciplined, and supportive approach with others.
Judy Rothwell
TreasurerJudy is a professional accountant and previously a partner in the Vancouver office of KPMG International. She currently splits her time with her professional practice of providing financial, accounting and tax advice to individuals and businesses and volunteering with charitable non-profit organizations giving back to communities both locally and internationally. She has been a director and treasurer of a number of Canadian registered charities during the last 18 years. She has also led a number of short-term mission teams to Africa to work on various projects helping orphans and vulnerable children and youth.
Michelle Goecke
Clinical Associate Professor, PresidentDr. Goecke is a Clinical Assistant Professor UBC and is a General, Trauma and Breast Surgeon at Royal Columbia Hospital in New Westminster. She has participated in H4H surgical missions every year since 2013.
Louise Peterson
RN, SecretaryLouise is an RN of 34 years with extensive clinical experience in a variety of acute medical/surgical services. She has worked as a PACU RN for the past 25 years, at UBCH, VGH, and Cambie Surgical Centre. She was the PACU Clinical Educator at UBCH for 8 years, from 2012 to 2020. Louise has volunteered with H4H since 2019, and has greatly enjoyed her time with the organization. She brings enthusiasm, integrity, and compassion to her nursing practice.
Thomas Joseph Goetz
MD, FRCSCClinical Professor Department of Orthopaedics University of British Columbia. Works at Saint Paul’s Hospital, Lionsgate Hospital. Sub-specialty interest in Upper Extremity and complex neuromuscular disorders. Head of Orthopedic Upper Extremity Research, and Fellowship program at Saint Paul’s Hospital. Dr. Goetz has passionately donated to H4H for many years and has volunteered with H4H on 6 missions to Guatemala.
